LOOK GOOD FEEL BETTER COMING TO SOUTH EAST REGIONAL HOSPITAL

Look Good Feel Better, will be holding a free workshop at South East Regional Hospital on Monday 4 December. Look Good Feel Better is a free national community service program that helps to improve the wellbeing and confidence of people undergoing treatment for any type of cancer.

Run by the Cancer Patients Foundation, the Look Good Feel Better program has been providing free workshops for Australian women, men and teens for 27 years. The workshops are designed to help patients cope with the appearance-related side-effects caused by cancer treatment.

The workshops include sessions on skin care techniques to alleviate symptoms, including dryness and sallowness; makeup tips to deal with concealing redness and drawing on eyebrows; and advice on headwear including scarf styling and wig selection. Each participant receives a Confidence Kit, full of skincare and make-up products to use as tools for application throughout the workshop. Participants also benefit from the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation. Through these workshops friendships and additional support networks are formed that can help during their diagnosis and treatment.

Local volunteers qualified in cosmetics and hair styling provide information and advice to the participants.
